Hello everyone,
I am very excited to share the following news with you; after nearly 10 years since I first told myself I wanted to be a filmmaker, I am working on my most significant film. The story for Small Delights originates from a short story I wrote over 6 years ago, and a year ago I revisited this story and have been hard at work on this project ever since. And so, this has been many months in the making.

Small Delights is a short fiction film that centers around the character of Aziza, a teenage Muslim girl born and raised in New York. Aziza is a music geek who is already on her way to producing music, but she lacks support from her family and is also trying to find a place she fits into. It’s a universal story of figuring out where one belongs, and it features Muslim characters. I believe that this film breaks a lot of boundaries and will be a film that many audiences can enjoy and appreciate.

Hello world. I got to film this video “An Extra Day to be Black with Michael Paul Britto” for my work at Black Public Media . Have a look at the video, its pretty funny and Britto’s work is very intriguing, for he uses pop culture to tackle race in the United States head-on.

Myself and a couple of friends took youth photographers from Khadijah’s Caravan to this year’s Allied Media Conference. We went on the NYC to AMC bus (I think they copied our fundraising campaign name) and had a terrific time in Detroit. I took some photos of our adventures.
